Battery take on Harrisburg

The Charleston Battery are back at the 'Baud this weekend and take on the Harrisburg City Islanders at Blackbaud Stadium at 7:30 on Saturday night.

The Battery will be looking another win after their come-from-behind victory over the Richmond Kickers on Tuesday night.  The Battery will have Wilson back from suspension and Levi Coleman should return from injury.

Can the Charleston continue to find the back of the net?  Battery fans would like to think so.   The boys should be riding high after the win and confidence should be restored amongst the young players.

Johnny Wilson returning to the line up will bolster the back line and Diego Walsh continues to improve in the middle the more time he spends with the team.

It will be the first match up between the two teams this year.  The Battery will make the trip to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on June 4.

The City Islanders haven't started the season like they would have liked.  Their first two home matches were postponed due to weather and they have only garnered one win in their five matches this season.  But the City Islanders should not be underestimated.  They drew a tightly contested match against Richmond and beat the Rochester Rhinos.

Saturday is also Champions League Finals day.  The Madra Rua is the place to watch Manchester United take on Barcelona.  The plan is to watch the final there,  then take the short drive over the Don Holt bridge to the Regiment tailgate before the Battery match.    Can't make it to Charleston?   You can still watch the Battery match live and free on www.USLlive.com

It is also Family Night at the 'Baud.  For $30, you can get four tickets, four hot dogs and four drinks, a bargain for a night out with the family.  Got more than one kid?  You can add an additional person to the deal for $7.50 each.  Battery president Andrew Bell was making the rounds Friday morning, giving interviews at three local radio stations. Watch one of the interviews HERE.  We also saw an commercial for tonight's game on TV this morning.  Good work by the Battery Front Office to get that done.
